Black Lotus' Duel School

I haven't started a thread yet and I felt like starting one. I could've put up one of my decks, but I might get bothered by critiques and I can't stand people's comments when I don't want them. So I am doing this.

I have noted everyone in the Top 10 Posters list and I believe that I am the most experienced at Yu-Gi-Oh! Therefore this thread is open for any questions that you may have about the game. I can offer very good and well thought out responses in reasonable amounts of time. So if you have a slightly urgent question I would recommend asking it here. Just don't ask anything stupid, please stay on topic and no flames.

Ok so i had a question about burn decks vs top tier decks. Is burn fast enough this format(volcanic burn). Counter has to have it's effect go off and with the swarm that the opponent will try and do to kill you lava golem would be good. this is a decklist i think could work. it could also very well take an agressive spin to it.

One of my teammates built a deck similar to this. However the way I see burn is that it looks nice on paper, but in practice it requires a lot more stall than actual burning.

One of the reasons I started coming here is that the people on yugioh forums absolutely hate people who are new or not very good at yugioh. I have been playing for 5 years, yet still never seem to build an outstanding deck. Right now I am working on Incas. Can you help me with staples for that deck, and staples in general? What would work well with those combos?

Could you explain priority? The concept was always a bit vague to me

The best Scrap decks are actually pure Scraps without GKs or whatever. Trust me on that.

The deck basically relies on using Chimera to spam synchros.

The following are Scraps that we have at our disposal
Scrap Chimera
Scrap Mind Reader
Scrap Goblin
Scrap Beast
Scrap Soldier
Scrap Golem
Scrap Searcher

There will be a new Scrap called Scrap Orthros soon and it will definitely send the deck over the top. It is to be expected in Japan in an issue of V-Jump.

Then the synchros are
Scrap Archfiend
Scrap Dragon
Scrap Twin Dragon

In STOR we will receive Atomic Scrap Dragon. There is also Scrap Worm and Scrap Shark in STOR, but they really aren't helpful for the deck.

Scrap Chimera is the main card of the deck. Upon Normal Summon you special summon a Scrap Tuner from your graveyard. However it can only be used for the synchro summon of a Scrap Synchro monster. So in order to get your engine going you want Chimera as soon as possible. In order to do so you play 3 of them and 3 Scrapstorm with a lot of Scrap Tuners. The reason for the Tuners is that when they are destroyed you get any Scrap from your graveyard back to your hand. So with them you can recycle your Chimera. The most notable combo is this.

Summon Scrap Tuner
Activate Scrapstorm targeting your Scrap Tuner
Send Scrap Chimera from your deck to the graveyard
Destroy your Scrap Tuner and draw a card for Scrapstorm's effect
Scrap Tuner's effect activates and adds Scrap Chimera to your hand.

I could go into more detail, but I wrote a huge explanation of the deck here and I have no idea where it went.

The Inca deck revolves around getting out the Sun and Moon Dragons. Therefore you need Fire Ant Ascator and Supay as the Tuners of the deck. Next both of the Tuners work well with Oracle of the Sun. Oracle has a Cyber Dragon like effect so he is also amazing for synchro material, he is level 5 too so with him and one of the Tuners you can go into the respective Dragon. Then finally there is Apocatequil, he is a nice beater and he is also treated as a level 5 when you have a Tuner out. He also summons Oracle from the graveyard when he dies. That is it for the staples for that particular deck really. Then you can run Sangan and Giant Rat in order to search your deck for your Tuners. One for One might be good to bring out Supay also. Basic staples for any deck right now are Monster Reborn, Dark Hole, Solemn Judgment, Solemn Warning, Bottomless Trap Hole, Mirror Force, and Torrential Tribute. Depending on your playstyle also you can run Mystical Space Typhoon, Giant Trunade, Foolish Burial, and Call of the Haunted. I would also recommend running Mind Control as you will most likely be playing with 6 Tuners in the deck.

Priority is when you summon a monster and you have a monster in play at that point, including the monster that you just summoned, that has an Ignition effect. Simply it means that unless your opponent has a counter trap to respond to your monster's summoning you always have the chance to activate one of your monsters' Ignition effects.

For example

I summon Snipe Hunter, Snipe Hunter's effect is classified as an Ignition effect. I can activate his effect as long as my opponent cannot negate my summon through Judgment, Warning, Oppression etc. I get to use my effect if I so desire. Then after I activate my effect my opponent has the chance to respond with a card like Bottomless Trap Hole.

There are situations where you cannot activate priority though. If an effect that is in play activates on the summon of a monster then you cannot call priority.

Example

Black Garden activates whenever a monster is summoned. Therefore if I summon my Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon I cannot call priority.

It works the same way if the monster you are summoning has an effect that activates when it is summoned.

Example

If I summon Arcanite Magician its effect activates giving him 2 Spell Counters. Therefore I am unable to call priority with his destruction effect and or with any other monster with an Ignition effect that I already have out.

I hope this has cleared things up for you a bit.

Yes, precisely therefore you opponent cannot kill your Lonefire with say Torrential Tribute before you have the chance to use its effect.

how can i spam with golem? what is a good way to get him out

You can call priority with DAD and Gale. That is about it really. Oppression can negate Shura's effect because it special summons a monster. Therefore it would negate and destroy Shura.

You can either send him to the graveyard with Foolish Burial or Scrapstorm and revive it with Monster Reborn. Something like that or you just need to find a way to tribute summon it. Scrap Mind Reader makes nice tribute fodder if you don't have anything to synch with it.

golem is awesome and everyone revives him when scrap dragon is blown up.

It isn't because it searches that you wouldn't be able to respond to it. I would because it activates during the Damage Step, which it does. However I was wrong. Never mind, I kind of jumped the gun, because Shura activates in the Damage Step you can't negate it with Oppression. My apologies.

Yes, you use priority on a monster effect if your opponent cannot negate your summon. Therefore you have a chance to use your monster's effect before your opponent can use a card such as Bottomless Trap Hole.
