I have fire red and I like it but you can not really compare them they are virtually the same game. The only difference is the version exclusive pokemon which is more a matter of opinion to which of those pokemon you would rather be able to get.

Neither one is better than the other. They are virtually the same game with a few tweaks in Pokemon that are accessible in each game.

I find firered more popular than leaf green for some reason so I choose firered
